Yes. We pay out donations every month, and they are always held in a clients' account prior to being distributed. This ensures that your donations are completely ring-fenced and will always be protected.
Yes. All donations made through Charity Checkout are securely encrypted and processed using SSL with a minimum 128-bit encryption and firewalls. We only store card data on PCI DSS Level 1 compliant servers, the highest level of security.
Charity Checkout is an approved HMRC Gift Aid Agent. We can reclaim Gift Aid every month on the 20th of each month, or the nearest working day thereafter for any donations made via Charity Checkout the month prior. The Gift Aid is paid directly to your charity by HMRC, including any interest owed. We do not charge an admin fee for handling your Gift Aid.
Yes. We provide you with access to all the relevant data you require, should you wish to reclaim Gift Aid in-house.
We will pass on all the data to your charity, including the donor’s full name, e-mail address, address and phone number, if they have provided one. We provide you with instant access to this data both via your online account and in Microsoft Excel format.
We offer both single and recurring debit/ credit card donation options, including: Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Maestro and Delta. American Express and our Direct Debit platform are also available, on request.
Yes. You can login to your online account at any time and cancel future payments that have already been set-up to your charity via a recurring donation.
Yes. We have a feature designed specifically for processing payments for goods, memberships and event tickets.
Charity Checkout has a return URL function, which can be used to direct donors to a web page of your choice after they have completed their donation. This can be used to direct donors to a ‘thank you’ message on your charity’s own website. You can also customise the receipt your supporters receive after making a payment to your charity.
Charity Checkout offers a completely customisable and branded payment service. Custom data fields enable charities to customise the payment process to collect any information you might require from your supporters. The Basic package comes with 3 custom data fields, while the Plus includes 10 and the Complete package 35.
The standard transaction costs are just 2.43% (subject to a min. of 30p) of the gross donation, which includes Gift Aid. This goes towards covering our transaction fees. These fees are charged by the bank, and are an intrinsic part of taking payments online. We do not charge an additional admin fee for processing your donations, unlike many other providers.
Yes. You can use Charity Checkout to easily set-up custom donation pages, enabling you to run effective campaigns via Twitter and Facebook. You can also integrate Charity Checkout with your charity’s Facebook page.
No. Charity Checkout is a tool to help your charity increase the amount of donations you receive online. We cannot promote or undertake marketing for your charity.
A maximum amount of £5,000 applies to donations via through Charity Checkout. However, this can sometimes be increased upon request.
A minimum amount of £1 applies to donations made via Charity Checkout.
We will transfer donations via Bacs each month. If your bank account is unable to accept Bacs payments, we can send a cheque on request. There is a £3 admin charge for payment transfer via cheque.
We pay out credit/ debit card donations in complete monthly batches on the 20th of each month, or the nearest working day thereafter. Direct Debit donations are paid out every 3-5 working days.
